Blacksmith Shop
Our pieces are created in a fully functional blacksmith shop, steeped in the tradition of the craft. We use and restore antique equipment, and of course, the hammer and anvil are an integral part of our work. Little Giant trip hammers, Vulcan anvils, and Brent Bailey’s hammers are just a few of the tools featured in our shop and can be viewed in our Tools Photo Gallery. Photos of the shop below show a glimpse of the shop from within, and how far the shop has come over the years. The work of our shop also requires pick up and delivery of material so if you are in the area, keep an eye out for our Shop Truck.
This shop is the product of many dreams, hours of practice with hammers, learning to control the fire of the forge, and the wisdom of the mentors before us.

Pioneer Power
Pioneer Power thrashing show holds a special place in my heart as it is where my journey as a blacksmith began. It has also become a family tradition for the Bienfang family, particularly in the spring and fall, with our daughter-in-law and three granddaughters joining us. If you are looking for a place to experience working history and gain a glimpse of how life used to be, I highly recommend visiting Pioneer Power. For more information, check out the Le Sueur Pioneer Power show.

Blacksmith Tools
Our shop upholds the use of traditional techniques and employs antique and refurbished tools for a considerable amount of our work. Notably, some of these tools possess a fascinating history.

Truck
When I was in high school and early years in college, I drove my family’s 1964 F100 Ford pickup, and I miss it dearly. When I came across a 1966 Ford F100 with the same color and a stick shift in SD, I knew I had to have it as my blacksmith shop truck. After putting in many hours of work to get the 352 V8 engine running smoothly and painting our shop logos on the doors, I now drive it regularly as my shop truck. It is important to me to keep it as original as possible, similar to how I strive to maintain the authenticity of my blacksmith tools. I am enamored with the feeling of nostalgia it evokes as I shift gears and reminisce about the past.
